Project Director, Evaluation and Measurement Strategy Full Description

Digital Promise is seeking a Project Director, Evaluation and Measurement Strategy to lead the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the Powerful Learning team's data strategies, evaluation frameworks, and performance metrics. This role demonstrates the efficacy of the organization's research, pilots, and services through rigorous data frameworks, automated dashboards, and academic-grade reports, and serves as a liaison to internal teams, external research partners, and funders.

Responsibilities

Design theory of change and logic models mapping inputs, activities, and outputs to define KPIs, implementation fidelity, and ROI tracking
Lead research design, including longitudinal studies and control groups, to demonstrate measurable program efficacy
Serve as primary research liaison (e.g., for Verizon Innovative Learning Schools and other partners)
Implement internal evaluation systems to assess program fidelity and implementation quality
Develop self-serve dashboards (Tableau, Power BI) to monitor performance and outcomes across research and service portfolios
Streamline and automate data collection pipelines using SQL and survey tools like Qualtrics
Collaborate on scalable ETL pipeline strategies capable of real-time reporting
Conduct complex statistical analysis using R, Python, and/or SPSS to measure pilot and service efficacy
Produce academic-grade reports and technical writing for grant compliance and institutional stakeholders
Facilitate development and tracking of OKRs across teams
Manage competing priorities and oversee external contractors on cross-functional projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information systems, statistics, data science, mathematics, or related field required; Master's preferred
7-10 years of experience in strategic planning, data science, performance measurement, or evaluation frameworks
Strong proficiency in statistical programming using R, Python, and/or SPSS
Extensive experience building self-serve, interactive dashboards using Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
Experience with SQL, relational databases (MySQL, Google BigQuery), and API integrations
Deep knowledge of logic models, ROI tracking, implementation fidelity, and OKR methodologies
Exceptional technical writing ability for grant compliance and academic-grade reporting

This is a hybrid organization role, fully remote for this position (United States), with travel up to 15% expected for in-person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Salary is geography-based: California $132,821-$144,541, DC Metro/NYC $120,747-$131,401, National $108,672-$118,261.
