Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Project Manager and Marketing Content Strategist will assist campus partners in executing their marketing and communication plans for recruitment and retention initiatives and define project objectives and outcomes that integrate with larger University goals. Create marketing copy for compelling, innovative and results oriented materials for a variety of audiences
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, or related field
  • 3 years of marketing and project management experience, including experience building strategic marketing and/or communications plans
  • 3 years of demonstrated writing experience across all communication channels, including print, email, digital, web, and social media
  • Demonstrated experience in a multi-client, multi-project environment ·
  • Proven ability to shepherd projects from concept to completion, enlisting the support and enthusiasm of others in the process.
  • Self-starter with strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong diplomatic skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in marketing, english, business administration, business analytics, or related field
  • Experience in higher education
  • Writing to brand and campaign standards
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite and/or project management tool (Lytho, Asana, WorkZone, or other)
Essential Functions and percent of time:

50% – Project manager
  • Direct projects while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Work with campus partners to develop project budget, schedules, approvals, and deliverables
  • Establish project timelines, communicate to all collaborators, and ensure projects remain on schedule to meet deadlines and project goals
  • Utilize project management tools to facilitate work and collaboration with team members
  • Provide strategic guidance in the form of marketing and communications plans.
  • Assist in the creative process for various publications, communications, advertising, print, digital, and web projects
  • Identify alternate channels for targeted communication of key marketing messages
  • Ensure quality and cost controls

40% – Creative writing and editing
  • Create compelling messaging across multiple mediums that clearly communicates campus partner and University objectives to appeal to audiences, including headlines, digital ads, print copy, subject lines, web content, social media, and other platforms across campus. Ensure messaging is consistent with current brand and campaign standards.
  • Ensure the quality of messaging as it goes through iterative changes.
  • Proofread and edit work of other team members to ensure quality control and brand standards.
