Job Description:
ASU Health is seeking a Project Manager Senior to lead and manage complex, high-priority projects that support the growth and strategic initiatives of ASU Health. This role partners with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners to plan, execute, and deliver projects from initiation through completion.
The Project Manager Senior will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities, timelines, and desired outcomes. This position plays a key role in advancing initiatives across ASU Health's academic, clinical, and research areas, including program development, infrastructure planning, and strategic partnerships.
Salary Range: $94,300 to $105,000; DOE
Essential Duties:
Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple concurrent, large-scale, high-priority projects and strategic initiatives in support of ASU Health priorities
Partner with senior and executive leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners to define project scope, goals, success metrics, governance structures, timelines, and budgets
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including task assignments, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths; ensure alignment with organizational strategy and priorities
Identify, secure, and manage required resources, including personnel, subject matter experts, vendors, and consultants
Establish and apply appropriate project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Monitor project performance and progress; proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and manage conflicts to maintain momentum and achieve desired outcomes
Coordinate across university units and external partners to align priorities, resources, and timelines in a complex, matrixed environment
Lead change management efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and adoption strategies to support successful implementation of initiatives
Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, dashboards, and presentations to support decision-making and ensure transparency
Oversee project financials, including budget development, tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis; ensure responsible stewardship of resources
Ensure compliance with applicable institutional, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including preparation and submission of required documentation and reports
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement operational and infrastructure requirements, including facilities, space planning, equipment, and technology needs
Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to project team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment
Lead project closeout activities, including evaluation of outcomes, documentation of lessons learned, and preparation of final reports and summaries
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree in project management, business administration, public administration, or a related field
Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification
Demonstrated experience working within or supporting higher education, healthcare, public health, or similarly complex, regulated environments
Experience managing grant-funded or externally funded projects
Experience using project management systems, CRM tools, or similar platforms to manage and track work
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level materials and delivering presentations to audiences
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-intensity, and decentralized environments with a high degree of independence and accountability
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions

Working Environment:
Activities are primarily performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, with extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and participating in virtual and in-person meetings
Regularly required to stand, walk moderate distances, and move between offices, meeting spaces, and campus locations
May be required to travel between university campuses and partner locations for meetings, site visits, and project coordination
Work is performed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to changing needs, and meet deadlines
May require occasional evening or weekend work to support project milestones, events, or critical deadlines
This position is expected to work primarily onsite in close collaboration with ASU Health leadership, with some flexibility for remote work as appropriate
