What You Will Do:
The Project Manager-Student Transfer will provide comprehensive support to the development and execution of strategies and programs that support all aspects of the transfer student experience.  Working closely with the Senior Associate Dean, this role will project manage collaborative work that engages stakeholders across the college and community college and non-profit partners in order to ensure all systems and processes align with transfer student interests and needs.  This role will bring together leaders from across institutions to ensure that academic programming, transfer credit evaluation, scheduling, modality offerings, and student support services meet their needs.  They will also engage stakeholders to ensure career programming, systems and institutional infrastructure is transfer-friendly and ensure enrollment, marketing, admissions, and partnership strategies that align with transfer student needs.  This position is a 12-month (ends June 30, 2026), grant-funded position with an opportunity for renewal in subsequent years. Responsibilities: 
Project Management
  • Lead and/or coordinate seven different cross-institutional working groups that span NLU, community colleges, and local non-profits to achieve key deliverables.
  • Create agendas, timelines, roles and responsibilities for all cross-institutional group meetings.
  • Ensure all necessary stakeholders are involved in all cross-institutional teams.
  • Report-out weekly progress against key deliverables to UGC and NLU leadership.
  • Manage details of all grant-related tasks as assigned.
Focus Groups and Research
  • Conduct research on all aspects of best practices for transfer student experience.
  • Coordinate and/or lead transfer student focus groups at NLU and partner institutions.
  • Collect and analyze all existing transfer data at NLU and partner institutions.
Process Analysis and Inventory
  • Analyze current workflows and processes that exist for transfer students related to enrollment, transcript evaluation, admissions, registration, advising, the academic experience, articulation agreements, and/or career services.
Data Organization and Analysis
  • Manage and oversee key data points related to the transfer experience.
  • Assure the effective collection, analysis, and use of data to inform and document programs and initiate (drive) performance improvement efforts across transfer students
Transfer Strategy
  • Coordinate and/or lead ongoing cross-departmental, college-wide transfer strategy based on project management, research process analysis and data.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Social Services, or closely related.  Master's Degree preferred.
  • Five plus (5+) years extensive project management experience focused on producing key deliverables and outcomes.
  • Five plus (5+) years extensive experience leading and/or coordinating complex teams utilizing equity-based, inclusive practices.
  • Five plus (5+) years experience in one or more of the following higher education departments:  Enrollment, Admissions, Student Support Services, Academic Advising and Coaching, Academic Programs, and/or Career Development.
  • Five plus (5+) years strong knowledge of transfer student needs and experience.
  • Five plus (5+) years skilled in the utilization of technology and data to drive operational improvements.
  • Five plus (5+) years skilled in data collection and analysis in order to drive programmatic improvements

The salary range of the grade for this position is $58,202 to $84,393 annually.  Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.  Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
