We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Quality Assurance Lead to champion both manual and automated testing practices. This individual will lead QA strategy, mentor junior testers, own end-to-end test quality, and actively contribute to our automation framework using Cypress and related open-source tools.
The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, self-motivated with at least one year of experience with Cypress and 6+ years of hands-on QA experience (manual/automation) to work with our team to create award winning products for our clients. The role will focus on planning and executing automated tests, including but not limited to functional, integration, smoke, and regression tests.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment and deliver incremental product software with high quality.
- Lead the design and execution of QA strategy across manual and automated testing for multiple product teams.
- Develop and maintain automated API test suites and Cypress-based automation suites and coach other team members on automation best practices.
- Conduct and lead manual test planning and execution, especially in high-risk and exploratory testing scenarios.
- Create, review, and maintain test artifacts—test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, automation scripts, and documentation.
Partner with Product, DevOps, and Development teams to ensure shift-left testing, continuous integration, and quality gate automation. - Oversee regression, E2E, performance, and integration testing for web-based and API-driven applications.
- Define and report QA metrics (test coverage, defect escape rates, cycle times).
- Mentor junior QA team members across the IC1–IC3 levels in both manual and automation disciplines.
- Proactively assess QA tools, processes, and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Contribute as an individual contributor to QA as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of hands-on QA experience in both manual and automation testing
- 2+ years in a QA leadership role with mentoring or people management responsibility
- Expert-level understanding of Cypress, JavaScript/TypeScript test development, and open-source test ecosystems
- Strong manual testing experience in exploratory, regression, and system integration testing
- Fluency with tools like JIRA, GitHub Actions, Confluence
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong skills in analyzing technical requirements, debugging complex issues, and advocating for testability
- Analytical thinker

- Superior communication/presentation skills
It would be great if you have or are pursuing the following:
- Experience with performance testing tools like Artillery, JMeter, or k6
- Experience testing authentication flows, SSO, or identity platforms
- AWS environment familiarity
- Previous experience in edtech, SaaS, or enterprise software
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or similar certifications
We prefer that you have experience with:

- MS Office Suite
- SalesForce
- JIRA and Confluence
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.
