Job Description
The Quality Engineer II works on dedicated and complex product teams directly with developers, scrum masters, product owners, and UX designers to provide students and student mentors with an excellent experience. They will develop test cases and test plans and will use automation scripting knowledge in large and moderately complex quality projects. Additionally, they will analyze failures and makes recommendations in an objective, open-minded way.

  • Works on moderately complex projects that support the university’s Quality initiatives.
  • Leads in providing subject matter expertise in multiple quality and technical areas.
  • Influences others in a cooperative, collaborative software development work environment.
  • May make recommendations and highlight opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uses judgment and discretion in achieving business outcomes in Quality domains.
  • Coordinates and leads work in a team setting.
  • Advocates for and understands competency-based education philosophy.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
KSAs
  • Knowledge of competency-based education philosophy.
  • Knowledge of command line operations.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4 years of quality assurance experience
  • Testing experience in a multi-tiered based architecture.
  • Experience with test case management software.
  • Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or PhD
  • Familiarity with scripting tools such as WebDriver
  • API testing experience using Postman or SoapUI
  • Familiarity with Bamboo, Jenkins, RSpec, qTest
  • Familiarity with Banner
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
