The Quality Specialist (QS) is responsible for conducting research related to state teacher certification requirements. The QS manages information databases, ensuring the appropriate certification records are maintained for the teaching population and appropriate course assignments are made. The QS researches, organizes, monitors and distributes information for to ensure quality staffing and compliance with state laws. The QS also organizes and participates in the hiring and onboarding process.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

- Subject matter expert for State Department of Education certification and compliance laws and regulations
- Research certification laws and requirements; reports findings to Leadership, Compliance and Legal teams
- Propose plans and collaborates with Leadership, Compliance, and Legal teams to make decisions that impact instructional implementation and staffing
- Consultant for Sales team by providing a prognosis on ability to support potential new clients and/or offering solutions to meet client needs
- Supports and notifies Client Success team of changes due to workforce management and/or compliance
- Manages and ensures accuracy of Course Management Database, Teacher Certification Management System, and Learning Management Systems
- Determines appropriate placement of all teachers to ensure individual courses are assigned to properly certified teachers, according to state laws
- Balance teacher loads according to state laws, fiscal responsibility, and workforce management
- Manages teacher cross-certification, identifying business needs, state requirements and potential candidates
- Determines staffing needs and FTE adjustments based off state laws and regulations, enrollment trends, and potential new clients
- Creates and manages requisitions, serves as point of contact for recruitment of all teachers, facilitates digital interviews, and determines new hire placement
- Ensures certification submissions meet requirements for all new hires and re-certifications (e.g. legal evidence of cert, validation of cert type for subject, in good standing and current)
- Actively participates in training and professional development
- Collaborates with team to identify teachers of the month and teacher of the year
- Identifies teacher availability for short- and long-term projects, special assignments, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five (5) years of experience in education
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
- Ability to clear required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams etc.); Web proficiency
- Ability to renew teaching certificate
- Knowledge of company’s instructional platforms, course catalog, Instructional Services Team Teacher Guidelines, and SharePoint
- Experience with database management
- Experience using Salesforce
- Master degree in an education related field
Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
- We anticipate the salary range to be $40,575.60 - $52,000.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
