About the Role
Elsevier is looking for a Quality Test Engineer III to design, build, and maintain automated end-to-end testing solutions using Playwright, supporting high-quality, scalable products in the global health space. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering and product partners to strengthen test coverage across systems and APIs, integrate quality practices into the SDLC, and mentor other engineers on quality best practices.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and support quality engineering practices across delivery lanes to ensure reliable releases and reduce rework through early testing and automation
  • Design and maintain scalable automated test solutions, focusing on end-to-end (E2E) testing using modern frameworks such as Playwright
  • Collaborate with engineering and product partners to define quality strategies, test coverage expectations, and quality gates aligned with demos and releases
  • Validate features at the story level before integration to enable early defect detection and smoother delivery
  • Integrate quality practices into the SDLC, including CI/CD pipelines, defect prevention, and test data management
  • Mentor and guide engineers on quality best practices, promoting a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence
What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA Test Engineering within agile development environments
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end (E2E) automated testing frameworks, preferably using Playwright
  • Experience testing APIs and microservices, including REST services, integration testing, and contract validation
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript preferred; Java or Python also acceptable
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
