About the Role

Elsevier is looking for a Quality Test Engineer III to design, build, and maintain automated end-to-end testing solutions using Playwright, supporting high-quality, scalable products in the global health space. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering and product partners to strengthen test coverage across systems and APIs, integrate quality practices into the SDLC, and mentor other engineers on quality best practices.

What You'll Do

Lead and support quality engineering practices across delivery lanes to ensure reliable releases and reduce rework through early testing and automation
Design and maintain scalable automated test solutions, focusing on end-to-end (E2E) testing using modern frameworks such as Playwright
Collaborate with engineering and product partners to define quality strategies, test coverage expectations, and quality gates aligned with demos and releases
Validate features at the story level before integration to enable early defect detection and smoother delivery
Integrate quality practices into the SDLC, including CI/CD pipelines, defect prevention, and test data management
Mentor and guide engineers on quality best practices, promoting a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence

What You'll Need

5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA Test Engineering within agile development environments
Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end (E2E) automated testing frameworks, preferably using Playwright
Experience testing APIs and microservices, including REST services, integration testing, and contract validation
Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript preferred; Java or Python also acceptable
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
