This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 14, with an annual salary range of $55,482 to $72,000. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
The R3 Coordinator is responsible for identifying justice impacted students to participate in different programs and providing tools for them to assess their potential for completing their academic and career goals. They will work with each student to access information needed to apply for grants, employment and eligible training programs. This will include collection of proper case management, barrier assessment and distribution, documentation, enrolling in, programs and/or register for courses, and provide support to individuals to complete their program. Empower students to advocate for themselves with community entities, staff and faculty. Help students navigate and overcome academic and personal barriers by providing referrals to college and community resources and following up with these resources to ensure that students receive the support that they need to achieve their goals. Develop and implement support-related activities and services, including teaching workshops to support student success in their academic program and the workplace. Assist with data collection for annual reports and evaluation of program activities. Maintain documentation for program files and individual student records.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in counseling, sociology or a related area.
- Minimum of two years working with at-risk, justice impacted or low-income populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills.
- Available to attend appropriate workshops and conferences.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Experience in MS Office Suite required.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license and the ability to commute to offsite locations on a frequent basis.
Essential Duties:
Assist with increasing program enrollment through the expansion of recruitment activities including participating in community events, building relationships with community resources, and developing new recruiting plans and activities that lead to growth. Work with the director to develop marketing and outreach as the needs arise.
Assess suitability of the participant, review and determine eligibility of potential participants in many different programs. Help new participants and complete proper paperwork with participants as required by the funding agency or programs. Meet with and review case files with participants regularly. Add case notes of all participant activities and goals into the required data entry system. Collaborate with various college departments to ensure participants' success (financial aid, student accounts, bookstore, and registration). Collaborate with external agencies to help facilitate participant’s needs and help maintain resources. Track participant success and supports in systems.
Be the safe space and staff person for justice impacted individuals on campus. Conduct professional ongoing case management/career/life counseling for grant clients through the fsteps of participation; recruitment, enrollment, population specific resources such as referral to legal aid, trauma counseling referrals, employment and follow up.
Identify community resources and support services that would benefit the participants with these specific barriers; housing, daycare, emergency food, rental assistance, utility assistance. Maintain a master list of the resources for the college. Coordinate events to support the population with the Director or Dean.
Assist with production of required grant reports as well as development of activities and programming for current and future cycles.
