Registration Assistant Full Description

Overview: 
The Office of Events is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations". The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Registration Coordinators in all aspects of event and conference registration. Hours: Monday-Friday, between 8:00 am-5:00 pm. May include some evening and weekend hours as needed with prior notification. Weekly hours will be between 10 to 28 hours. The work schedule will be determined on a weekly basis.
 
*Interviews will start July 21, 2025* Responsibilities: 
  • Assist the Registration Coordinators in all aspects of event and conference registration
  • Enter registrations into database from phone calls, emails, facsimile, and mail notifications 
  • Process payments following the department cash handling procedures; some collection responsibilities
  • Answer phone calls and respond to e-mails
  • Process registration requests from Program Coordinators
  • Name badge set-up, printing and preparation, and attendee check-in
  • Travel as needed
  • Other duties as needed
 Qualifications: 
  • One year customer service and office experience
  • Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Cheerful and positive attitude
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Willing to go above and beyond for customer satisfaction
  • Typing speed of 45+ with accuracy 
  • Preference given for previous USU experience

 Advertised Salary: $13.00/hr ADA:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
