Job Description

The Research and Accountability Data Analyst (RADA) works closely with researchers, national teams and school leadership to analyze and communicate school performance data aligned with accountability frameworks. The RADA is a critical member of the research team preparing data for ingestion and analysis and creating standardized datasets for researchers for a variety of outcome measures. The RADA serves as an accountability data expert, leveraging deep knowledge of state and federal accountability frameworks to uncover performance trends, support defense scenarios, and guide strategic decision-making across school services. This role requires expertise in managing large datasets, building dashboards, and developing standardized data products using tools like Snowflake, dbt, and SQL. The RADA should have a passion for translating complex accountability metrics into actionable insights that support school improvement initiatives and special programs. The RADA must be comfortable collaborating with researchers, assessment teams, report developers, and data science colleagues, and should be skilled in communicating findings to a wide range of stakeholders, including school leaders, educators, and executive teams.

· Develops standardized datasets using SQL for researchers to use to evaluate academic, engagement, and retention outcomes

· Ingests and analyzes projected graduation rates, student level assessments scores and publicly available data, such as school demographics, assessment results, graduation rates, and accountability grades; normalizes states specific test scores for cross-state comparison.

· Designs and maintains dashboards to visualize accountability metrics and pilot/initiative outcomes.

· Responds to ad-hoc requests related to assessment outcomes and accountability metrics.

· Evaluates interim assessment data after each administration window to support school improvement initiatives and special programs; communicates program effectiveness and progress to leadership regularly and as needed.

· Works with assessment teams to collect and analyze internal and external assessment results and intervention data; identifies reporting needs for leadership across various tools.

· Applies understanding of state and federal accountability requirements to ensure depth and accuracy of analysis.

· Partners with report developers to define metrics and create reports aligned with key accountability drivers.

· Collaborates with internal data, research, and data science teams to advance strategic initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· BS degree in mathematics, data science, technology or education leadership AND

· Three (3) years of data analysis or school leadership OR

· Equivalent combination of education and experience

· Ability to pass background check

· Ability to travel 10% of the time

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experienced in Python scripting for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, enabling efficient data pipeline development and automation.

· Proficient in advanced analytics techniques, including multiple forms of regression analysis such as multiple regression, logistic regression, and mixed-effects modeling, as well as matching methods for causal inference and comparative studies.

· Awareness of current trends and directions in K-12 accountability, educational research, and assessment

· Master's Degree preferred

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $76,079.25 to $110,000.00. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
