Research Assistant 2 Full Description

Function/Duties of Position: 
This position will work in the Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research at OHSU.  The Research Assistant 2 will contribute to research on the molecular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease development and gain proficiency in a number or research techniques, including standard molecular biology, imaging and Drosophila techniques.  Other duties include regularly attending and contributing to laboratory and departmental meetings, keeping abreast of the scientific literature relevant to the project, and contributing to writing manuscripts for journal submission.

Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's in relevant field; OR Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of relevant experience; OR Equivalent combination of training and experience
 Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Relevant skills in developmental neurobiology, molecular biology and tissue culture
  • Expertise working with Drosophila

 Additional Details:

This position involves a standard schedule of Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM, without the possibility for remote work. The position occasionally may require work on evenings and weekends.
