Research Assistant (Full-Time) Job Description
- As a Research Assistant (RA), you will work closely with our Research Manager, Director of Research Operations, Project Directors (PhD level psychologists), and our team of RAs to provide assistance with large-scale research projects to support publication of clinical assessments. The majority of our assessments are used by clinicians in the fields of school psychology, occupational therapy, and speech pathology. Qualified candidates will bring strong computer skills (Microsoft Office experience required and experience with data analytic programs preferred (e.g., SPSS, R), stellar attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and written and verbal skills.
- This role is well suited to recent psychology or liberal arts/science graduates seeking research experience in a business setting. Past RAs have gone on to graduate school in fields ranging from psychology to law to data science.
- Primary job functions:
- Data Entry (transferring data from paper formats into electronic databases, such as Excel)
- Data Coding (categorizing responses from participants based on pre-determined codes)
- Creating and updating forms on various online platforms (e.g. SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
- Data collection activities
- Preparing data collection documents
- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track incoming data and data collection progress from multiple data collectors nationwide
- Regularly communicating and troubleshooting with and answering questions for data collectors
- Basic data processing and quality checks
- Exporting and cleaning data
- Summary report writing
- Producing narrative and basic descriptive analyses to summarize customer learning experiences
- Manuscript preparation
- Knowledge of APA style formatting a plus
- Administrative duties as needed
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field required
- Excellent skills with organization, prioritization and time management, attention to detail, collaboration, and multi-tasking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional presence, teamwork, and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly experience with Excel is required
- Experience with data analytic programs preferred (e.g., SPSS, R)
- Experience with survey platforms preferred (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics)
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Past research experience is highly desired
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
