Job Summary
The successful candidate will implement protocols for quality control, operation, and repair of core instrumentation including flow cytometers and cell sorters.  They will assist and train novice users in the use of instrumentation including flow cytometers and cell sorters.  They will assist and train novice users in the use of flow cytometry analyzers and help with sample preparation and analysis as needed.  They will prepare solutions and be responsible for maintaining and restocking all core areas and for autoclaving and disposing of all biohazardous waste.

What We're Looking For:
  • Master's Degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related scientific discipline
  • Two or more years of hands-on experience working with flow cytometry instruments
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of reqired education and related work experience
  • Experience with cell biology and cell culture of eukaryotic cells
  • Knowledge of basic methods used in cytometry for experimental design and statistical methods for flow data interpretation
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the abiity to plan and prioritize project workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from varied backgrounds to enable projects in a broad spectrum of the life sciences
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

What Is Helpful:
  • Experience with CytekAurora spectral unmixing and BD FACS Aria sorting
  • Prior work in a core facility
  • ISAC cytometry certification and biosafety training certification
  • Familiarity with applied statistics for cytometry (ie QC metrics, effect sizes and confidence intervals, multiple-testing correction)
  • Familiarity with high-parameter panel design and exposure to high-dimensional analysis (ie FlowJo plugins, Cytobank/Omiq)
