Research Data Analyst 2 Full Description

Function/Duties of Position: 
The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for an energetic and highly motivated Research Data Analyst 2. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting complex, large-scale data analyses of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) dataset, encompassing longitudinal behavioral, biological, demographic, and cognitive data.  Experience with advanced statistical analytic techniques, including longitudinal modeling, will be necessary. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing data analytic expertise to support manuscript preparation and results dissemination. The position requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and manage assigned projects including justifying technical decisions with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with the R statistical environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a team, troubleshooting issues, and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree in relevant field AND 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree AND 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant analytic experience required.
  • Expertise in statistical analyses using R.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities, multi-tasking, working efficiently with a team, and the ability to be adaptable, creative, and a quick learner are all necessary.
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Advanced degree in biostatistics or computational science.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience conducting statistical analyses in mental health, neurodevelopmental, and/or neuroimaging research. 
  • Machine learning familiarity strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with longitudinal data analysis. 
  • Experience with multi-level data.  Experience with large data sets like ABCD.
