Job Summary

The Residential Education Coordinator (REC) is a full-time professional, live-on position within University Residences with a 12-month apartment and board plan. The REC is responsible for developing strong, inclusive residential communities with a curricular focus. This position will form relationships with individual students, faculty, and staff, including coaching and supervising student staff and mentoring graduate students. Responsible for leading residence operations in a way that creates and maintains a positive, intercultural, learner-centered community. The REC will promote, encourage, and reward student learning, academic success, and co-curricular participation. Responsible for fostering an atmosphere of respect for individual differences and community values and advising and supporting student groups. The REC will facilitate and develop a nurturing residential community, responding to sensitive issues and fostering a supporting environment for a highly diverse population.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor degree
0-1 year of experience
One year professional work experience
Ability to support a culture of professionalism in alignment with unit values
Skills in decision making/problems solving, continuous improvement/change management, strategic thinking, financial management, and drive for results
Skills in supervision, leading others and promoting teamwork in daily work activity
Ability to work and thrive under limited supervision
Must have the ability to understand and interpret related local, state, and federal regulations, guidelines, codes and laws
Customer service and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds
Desire to increase knowledge and skills through on-going development activities
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
A valid US or Canadian Driver's License
