The Role in Brief: 
Hybrid is growing our New Business team and is seeking motivated, ambitious, and results-driven sales professionals to join our January sales cohort. 
We are hiring across multiple levels based on experience: 
  • Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Early-career sales professionals looking to build a strong foundation in B2B sales and business development. 
  • Senior Sales Development Representative (SSDR) – Experienced sales development professionals ready to take on more sophisticated prospecting, qualification, and pipeline-generation responsibilities. 
  • Business Development Executive (BDE) – Experienced sales professionals responsible for developing new business opportunities from initial outreach through close, including discovery, relationship development, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and closing new business. 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Prospecting & Business Development 
  • Research and identify prospective colleges and universities aligned with Hybrid's growth priorities. 
  • Build and manage targeted prospect lists using CRM, sales intelligence, and market research tools. 
  • Conduct thoughtful outbound outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels. 
  • Develop relationships with prospective partners and generate qualified new business opportunities. 
  • Tailor outreach based on institutional priorities, market trends, and prospect needs. 
  • Discovery & Relationship Building 
  • Engage senior leaders and decisionmakers across higher education. 
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand institutional priorities, enrollment challenges, and marketing objectives. 
  • Clearly articulate Hybrid's value proposition and capabilities. 
  • Build credibility with prospective partners through thoughtful, consultative conversations. 
  • Qualify opportunities and determine appropriate next steps based on prospect needs and readiness. 
  • Pipeline & Sales Execution 
  • Maintain accurate prospect, opportunity, and activity information within Salesforce and other sales tools. 
  • Manage follow-up strategies and outreach sequences to move prospects through the sales process. 
  • Consistently work toward individual activity, pipeline, and revenue-related goals. 
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective partners. 
  • At more senior levels, take increased ownership of opportunity development and progression throughout the sales cycle. 
  • Collaboration & Market Intelligence 
  • Partner with colleagues across New Business, Marketing, and other Hybrid teams to support growth initiatives. 
  • Share prospect feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends with internal stakeholders. 
  • Contribute ideas to improve messaging, prospecting strategies, and sales processes. 
  • Stay current on trends affecting higher education enrollment, marketing, and institutional strategy. 
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Across all levels, successful candidates will bring: 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Confidence in engaging and building relationships with prospective customers. 
  • A proactive, goal-oriented approach and motivation to achieve results. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Curiosity and a consultative approach to understanding customer needs. 
  • Resilience, coachability, and a desire to continuously improve. 
  • Comfort learning and utilizing CRM, sales engagement, and prospecting technologies. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 
Ideal Qualifications: 
  • SDR: Prior sales experience is not required; experience in sales, customer service, recruiting, fundraising, hospitality, or another customer-facing environment is beneficial. 
  • Senior SDR: Demonstrated experience in sales development, business development, inside sales, or another B2B sales environment, including a track record of outbound prospecting and generating qualified opportunities. 
  • Business Development Executive: More advanced B2B sales experience with demonstrated success developing new business, building relationships with decision-makers, managing opportunities, and contributing to pipeline and/or revenue growth. 
  • Experience selling into higher education or another complex B2B environment is beneficial but not required. 
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft, Outreach, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar sales technology is also a plus. These are consistent with the tools called out in the existing SDR and Senior SDR profiles.
