How can you make an impact?
About the Role We’re seeking a Territory Sales Representative to manage a portfolio of colleges and universities in a territory that includes Binghamton, Poughkeepsie, Albany and Vermont. Reporting to a District Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for increasing the adoption of McGraw Hill’s innovative digital learning solutions by connecting with faculty, administrators, and other key stakeholders. This position requires daily travel within the territory area and occasional out-of-state company meetings.

This position requires daily travel within the territory area and occasional out-of-state company meetings. Candidates must reside within the territory (preferably Albany, NY) and hold a valid driver’s license. All candidates must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer.

What you will be doing:
  • Leverage existing customer relationships to expand digital product adoption and increase market share in new course areas.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and deliver tailored presentations of McGraw Hill’s learning solutions to faculty and administrators. 
  • Meet or exceed established revenue targets for the assigned territory while collaborating with internal teams to support sales strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to educators and administrators, identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships and expand McGraw Hill’s presence on campus. 
  •  Work with college bookstores and business offices to ensure seamless delivery of content and alignment with campus initiatives. 
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure effective use of McGraw Hill’s digital tools, including delivering impactful sales presentations to diverse audiences. 
  • Use CRM tools to track prospects, manage the sales pipeline, and drive opportunities from initial contact to close.
  •  Effectively manage business and sampling budgets while partnering with sales leadership to refine strategies
 
We're looking for someone with:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, challenges, and decision making processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior-level executives.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo) and sales engagement platforms (SalesLoft, Outreach, LinkedIn, AI Tools)
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

The pay for this position is $54,600-$80,000 annually, however, base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sales commission plan will be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
