Organization's Summary Statement:
University Relations is implementing Salesforce CRM as part of an advancement and data modernization initiative. To ensure the platform's long-term success, stability, and scalability following implementation, University Relations requires a dedicated Salesforce Administrator to serve as the primary operational steward of the system.
The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, security, automation, and overall health of the Salesforce platform. This role serves as the primary Salesforce Subject Matter Expert (SME), translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions while enforcing data governance, security controls, and deployment best practices.
Reporting to the Director of Data Management, this position works closely with Salesforce Developers, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, business stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure the platform remains stable, well-governed, and aligned with enterprise data and analytics strategies. Following the transition from implementation partners, this role will assume full ownership of Salesforce operations and play a critical role in safeguarding the institution's CRM investment. The Salesforce Administrator will ensure the Salesforce platform remains stable, secure, and aligned with business priorities.
Physical Demands: Sedentary work with the majority of time spent using a desktop/laptop computer. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Ability to travel across campus for meetings.
Licenses/ Certifications:
Salesforce Administrator Certification.
Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator (preferred)
Service Cloud Consultant certification (Preferred)
Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification (Preferred)
Preferences:
-Professional experience in Salesforce administration or related technical roles
-Hands-on Salesforce Sales Cloud administration, including configuration, security management, and deployments using change sets or DevOps tools
-Experience integrating Salesforce or other enterprise CRM systems with analytics platforms
-Experience using data governance or cataloging tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview or equivalent)
-Experience supporting limited DBA responsibilities during platform transitions

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of professional information technology system administration experience, including two (2) years as a Salesforce Administrator.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Salesforce Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud products.
Knowledge of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality in relation to creating custom apps and objects, formula fields, flow, reports, custom views, and other content.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Google Workspace products.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
