Salesforce & Integration Architect
Reports To: Senior Director, Information Systems
Employment Type: Full Time FSLA Status: Exempt EEO Category: Professionals
The Impact You Will Have:
The Salesforce & Integrations Architect will help define and lead the target-state architecture for Crucial Learning’s core business systems ecosystem, with primary architectural responsibility for Salesforce, NetSuite and middleware platforms. This role will shape how our systems connect, scale, and operate together by establishing integration patterns, architectural standards, and platform design principles across a growing enterprise environment. You will step into a landscape with evolving integration approaches, limited in-house NetSuite depth, and an opportunity to bring stronger technical direction, governance, and long-term architectural clarity to business-critical systems.
You will be a hands-on architect, leading the design and implementation of solutions, stabilizing key integrations, and establishing durable architectural patterns and best practices. You will partner closely with stakeholders, developers, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. You will also play a key role in shaping unified data layer and integration strategy, ensuring consistent data models and trustworthy data flow across systems and product platform technologies.
Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, a pragmatic bias for action and the ability to bring structure to ambiguity coupled with exceptional communication skills. You must be able to communicate complex architectural decisions clearly, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and elevate the effectiveness of a lean team through sound patterns, disciplined execution, and thoughtful technical leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with Engineering to define and support a unified data layer and integration strategy across enterprise systems
- Design and lead cross-system solutions across Salesforce, NetSuite, and integration platforms such as Boomi, setting technical direction and aligning stakeholders with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and business value
- Translate business processes and requirements into clear architectural designs, data models, and technical specifications, identifying and resolving gaps in requirements, dependencies, and solution clarity
- Serve as the primary technical partner to product owners and business stakeholders, informing roadmap planning, backlog refinement, sequencing and trade-off decisions while strengthening prioritization and alignment to business outcomes
- Design and implement APIs and reusable integration patterns, establish standards, interface contracts, and system boundaries for long-term scalability
- Assess and improve existing integrations cross-system workflows, reducing fragility, increasing observability and replacing ad hoc solutions with standardized, reusable patterns
- Troubleshoot and guide complex cross-system issues, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity challenges, and orchestration failures
- Establish and reinforce architectural governance practices, including documentation standards, design reviews, and version control for integration assets
- Drive solution quality by challenging assumptions, surfacing trade-offs, and ensuring alignment between business objectives, technical design, security expectations and measurable outcomes
- Coach and elevate team members by strengthening technical execution, architectural thinking, and communication across a lean cross-functional environment
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years designing and delivering scalable enterprise systems, including cross-platform architecture in complex, multi-system environments
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, cross-platform solutions and lead architectural decision-making
- Demonstrated success in technical leadership, including influencing architectural decisions, and raising development standards across teams
- Strong experience with Salesforce along with platform architecture and hands-on development including Apex engineering solutions
- Experience with or architecting around NetSuite in an enterprise environment, including defining best practices and guiding implementation; hands-on experience is a plus
- Experience designing and implementing integrations using middleware platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar IPaaS technologies
- Strong background in API design, data modeling, and enterprise integration patterns such as synchronous, asynchronous, orchestration, and data synchronization
- Demonstrated success operating as a hands-on architect, contributing directly to implementation while guiding broader system and integration design
- Strong understanding of CRM and ERP systems and how they interact within enterprise workflows, operational processes, and data lifecycles
- Proven ability to succeed in working in lean or evolving environments by introducing structure, defining patterns, improving delivery quality and increasing team effectiveness
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and align cross-functional teams
- Experience with authentication, identity management or SSO solutions such as Auth0
- Familiarity with automation platforms such as Zapier or Workato
- Must be able to attend in-person events at least once a year
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
