Job Description
Overview
We're seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Administrator to play a central role in our Pathways IT team for our global marketing technology team. You'll ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and optimised for impact—working at the intersection of marketing, CRM, and IT to enable data-driven engagement at scale. Reporting to the Head of CRM, you'll oversee platform administration, campaign execution, and data integrity, while championing best practices and innovation in marketing automation.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Governance
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and platform configurations across SFMC.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Maintain security, data integrity, and adherence to privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
Campaign Execution & Optimisation
  • Support end-to-end campaign delivery across Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Content Builder.
  • Build, test, and schedule dynamic journeys and automations using AMPscript and SQL.
  • Drive campaign optimisation through personalisation, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
Data Integration & CRM Alignment
  • Collaborate with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud) teams to ensure accurate data syncs and segmentation.
  • Manage data extensions, imports, and platform integrations (API, FTP, etc.) with reliability and scalability in mind.
  • Ensure data-driven campaigns are aligned with business needs and audience strategy.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner daily with UK-based marketers to translate business requirements into scalable SFMC solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance on campaign execution and platform best practices.
  • Participate in planning sessions, retrospectives, and innovation sprints to shape roadmap priorities.
Innovation, Change & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay up to date with new SFMC features and proactively recommend enhancements.
  • Lead change management for platform updates, ensuring robust documentation, testing, and version control.
  • Promote a culture of experimentation, knowledge-sharing, and platform excellence.

About You
Required Experience & Attributes
  • 2-5 years hands-on experience as an SFMC Administrator or Marketing Automation Specialist.
  • Proficiency in AMPscript, SQL, HTML/CSS, and data-driven email personalisation.
  • Strong experience with Automation Studio, Journey Builder, and campaign segmentation.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud) and system integrations.
  • Proven ability to engage marketing and IT stakeholders, balancing technical detail with clear communication.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns in a global context.
Desirable
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Administrator, Email Specialist, Developer).
  • Experience working in a distributed global team or with UK/EMEA stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of governance and change control processes.
  • Awareness of data protection and privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, consent management).
