Position Description:
The SFQC Project Coordinator plays a key role executing tasks to support the development and delivery of research- and evidence-based professional development services to San Francisco’s quality improvement system, with the goal of improving the quality of childcare experienced by children birth through age 5.  Child development, infant/toddler development, early childhood education, attachment theory, professional development, project coordination and administration.

 What We’re Looking For:
A team member who is interested in supporting the pursuit of higher quality in early childhood education. We seek someone who brings strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills; a demonstrated record of working collaboratively and respectfully with diverse and underserved groups; and openness and curiosity about self and others.

Responsibilities:   
  • Support the delivery of high-quality, research- and evidence-based training and coaching services through the coordination and execution of programmatic and administrative activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of multi-lingual training materials.
  • Coordinate the project’s inventory of physical materials.
  • Serve as the project’s liaison with WestEd Facilities, IT, and other infrastructure departments as needed.
  • Serve as the lead conference coordinator for professional development activities and other events.
  • Represent WestEd, SFQC, and the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood (DEC) at stakeholder meetings and project activities.
  • Participate in training/professional development activities as needed.
  • Contribute to internal strategic planning efforts and professional development activities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Human/Child Development, or related field.
  • At least three years’ experience in program support and coordination, preferably in educational or human services contexts.
  • At least one year’s experience in volunteer coordination.
  • Familiarity with child development (birth to age 5), attachment theory, and learning theory.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with clients, staff, volunteers, and partners/stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness and reflective functioning.
  • Demonstrated alignment with the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work well independently, in partnership with leaders, and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks and priorities; demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to generate options for solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency with technology (e.g., computers, audio/visual equipment), software, and databases.
  • Experience working with small and large events supporting multi-lingual audiences (Spanish, English & Cantonese). 
  • Local travel and evening/weekend work are required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The full salary range for this position, WestEd level (8), is $70,400 to $110,000, but WestEd does not typically hire at or near the top of the salary range. The typical hiring range for this role is $70,400 to $88,000. The actual offer considers multiple factors, including but not limited to education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs.

In addition to the base salary, benefits include:
· 15% contribution toward retirement effective day 1 of employment
