The Scholarship Coordinator is responsible for administering and managing institutional, state, and merit-based scholarship programs. This role supports the Office of Financial Aid by ensuring accurate processing, compliance with South Carolina state scholarship regulations, and effective communication with students and stakeholders. The coordinator also assists the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Scholarships and delivers presentations on financial aid. This position is under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Scholarships, and responsible for processing, and awarding athletic aid; Verification of data for selected student aid applications and performs financial counseling for student and parents.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications | A bachelor’s degree and 3 years of Financial Aid experience with Banner, mainframe processing systems and a variety of personal computer software experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | A successful background check is required. Must be capable of learning and implementing new processing systems and software quickly. Must be knowledgeable and current in federal and state regulations and office policy pertaining to verification process from written resources and in-house training. Able to manage concurrent job demands in an efficient manner with limited technical and mathematical errors, as well as problem-solving skills. The ability to establish and maintain professional effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and parents is essential. Professionalism is required.
