Job Description 
Tidewater Community College has served South Hampton Roads – both students and employers – for 50 years. It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 25,000 students in 2024-25. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions. The college had 3,399 graduates in 2024-2025, 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. Of South Hampton Roads residents enrolled in higher education 33% enrolled at TCC. TCC’s institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

The Scholarship Operations Coordinator will support the administration of the college’s scholarship awards managed through the Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation (TCCEF).This position plays a key role in ensuring a positive experience for both student recipients and scholarship donors by coordinating the scholarship application cycle, maintaining accurate data records, and supporting compliance and reporting processes.

Scholarship Administration Support the full scholarship application cycle using AwardSpring. Assist with application setup, deadline monitoring, and award processing. Coordinate scholarship review committees and maintain communication throughout the selection process. Award and assist with the disbursement of scholarship funds in compliance with donor agreements and Foundation policies. Student & Donor Communication Draft and send scholarship-related communications to students. Assist with donor stewardship activities related to scholarship awards, including reporting support and recipient information coordination. Ensure timely and professional responses to scholarship-related inquiries. Data & Systems Management Manage scholarship process using the AwardSpring scholarship platform. Enter and maintain accurate scholarship and donor data in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT (RENXT). Maintain organized digital records to support reporting, compliance, and audit readiness. Generate internal and donor reports related to scholarship funds and awards. Operational Support Coordinate with the scholarship committee and Central Financial Aid to facilitate post-award processing and the accurate disbursement of scholarship funds to student accounts. Assist with documentation and process tracking to manage increasing scholarship volume. Support continuous improvement of scholarship workflows. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor, student, and financial information.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
