We are seeking an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to join our team focused on building a digital platform for young talent seeking guidance and pathways to new careers and opportunities. As a key member of the Tallo product and engineering organization, you will lead agile software development practices, in addition to running the standard agile ceremonies, coach and mentor team members building solutions and delivering impactful product increments for both internal and external customers. 
 
The ideal candidate will be a certified scrum master and have a strong understanding of agile principles, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset; one who thrives in a dynamic and innovative environment. The candidate will also be adept at influencing multiple development teams, not afraid to navigate strong personalities in building a team, prioritize collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement.   
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties. 

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. 
  • Coach the Scrum team on agile principles and practices to ensure adherence to the Scrum framework. 
  • Remove impediments or obstacles that hinder the team's progress and escalate issues when necessary to ensure successful delivery through the proactive management of external dependencies, 
  • Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team; assist in the development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges; has the authority to execute against new approaches and escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team by identifying areas for optimization and implementing strategies for enhancement. 
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize using the WSJF framework and manage the product backlog effectively. 
  • Track and communicate team progress, including sprint burndown charts and velocity metrics and able to communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes; Report team progress and accomplishment up and across; Facilitate status updates, product demos and retrospectives. 
  • Act as a servant leader, supporting the team in achieving their goals while promoting self-organization and accountability. 
  • Assists the Product Owner with backlog maintenance, and internal and external communications; supports the organizational goal for transparency and assists with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs. 
  • Develop and maintain resource allocations and support CAPEX reporting requirements. 
  • Work with cross functional teams to support release management, deployments, lead teams to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution. 
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment. 
  • Facilitate and engage in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence. 
  • Participates in long-range planning and development of application or product roadmaps with Business Unit Owners. 
  • Ensures development teams are practicing the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Five (5) years of experience in being a scrum master or Agile project manager for a digital product development organization. 

Certificates and Licenses: Certified Scrum Master or similar designation. 

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly articulate findings and concepts that support the problem you are trying to solve. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and Confluence. 
  • Experience with Scrum methodology and proven experience in Agile software development project management. 
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving skills and continuous improvement experience 
  • Experience supporting a practical approach to implementation with organizations and teams that are new to Agile/Scrum 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types 
  • Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential 
  • Ability to understand technical issues at a high level 
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency. 
  • Ability to clear required background check 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in both large company and start-up environments 
  • An aptitude for learning new businesses and domains  
  • An obsession with understanding and solving customer pain points 
  • Experience making data-driven decisions 

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $66,379.50 - $170,037.60.  Eligible employees may receive a bonus.  This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
