Job Description:
The Senior Academic Coordinator, Clinical Skills and Anatomy (CSA) provides comprehensive administrative and educational support for the preclerkship Clinical Skills and Anatomy courses in the first and second years of the medical school curriculum. This position combines responsibilities in academic coordination and standardized patient (SP) education to ensure seamless planning and delivery of CSA learning experiences.
This role serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and administrators regarding all aspects of the CSA courses, promoting a learner-centered environment that supports professional development, competency-based education, and inclusive learning.
Salary Range: $54,600 - $75,000; Depending on experience
Essential Duties:
Course and Curriculum Coordination
- Coordinate all logistics for CSA course sessions, including scheduling, room reservations, audiovisual setup, materials preparation, and faculty coordination.
- Maintain detailed course calendars, timetables, and student schedules in collaboration with course directors and the Office of Medical Education.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of course communications, announcements, and content in Elentra and Elevate Learning Space.
- Support exam and assessment proctoring administration, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and formative activities.
Standardized Patient (SP) Program Integration
- Serve as the liaison between the CSA courses, the Grace Center, and the Health Futures Center to align SP activities with curricular needs.
- Assist with casting, scheduling, and preparing standardized patients for CSA sessions and OSCEs.
- Support SP training to ensure accurate case portrayal, feedback consistency, and standardized performance.
- Observe SP sessions, provide coaching, and assist in continuous quality improvement for simulation-based learning.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate SP and simulation-based teaching with anatomy and clinical reasoning instruction.
Student and Faculty Support
- Act as the primary contact for students regarding CSA scheduling, logistics, and course-related concerns.
- Support faculty and instructors in session preparation, material distribution, and assessment tracking.
- Facilitate student onboarding, orientation, and communication regarding course expectations and performance.
- Provides entry-level technology assistance for educational software and hardware tools.
- Maintain an inclusive and psychologically safe learning environment that fosters professional growth and cultural humility.
Data Management, Reporting, and Accreditation
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, evaluations, and course performance metrics.
- Assist with preparation of accreditation documentation and reports (e.g., LCME).
Program Development and Innovation
- Contribute to development and refinement of SP cases and educational materials in collaboration with simulation faculty.
- Explore and implement innovations in simulation and feedback delivery, including use of digital or AI-enhanced tools.

Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education, theater, healthcare administration, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in academic program coordination, medical education, and clinical skills training.
- Experience with medical school learning management systems (Elentra, One45, Oasis, etc.), simulation technologies (Learning Space, etc.), and assessment software.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
- Knowledge of competency-based medical education principles and LCME accreditation standards.
- Commitment to equity, psychological safety, and inclusive learning environments.
- Experience in standardized patient program development, simulation education, or extended reality, instruction support.
- Familiarity with medical improv as an educational tool in academic medicine.
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk (moderate) distances to perform work
- Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to up to 20 pounds (light)
- May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses

- This position is full-time, and the incumbent must be available Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
- The primary work location is the Downtown Phoenix campus, but a presence on other campuses or at off-campus locations may be required.
