McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Senior Academic Designer for our Social Studies programs (K-5).  Senior Academic Designers are content and curriculum experts. They assemble high-quality content based on specific product requirements for programs and understand the solution design. They collaborate with the Academic Design Director and Academic Design Managers to help develop the solution design (both conceptualization and implementation). 
 
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 12/01/2027.
 
What you will be doing: 
  • Plan and develop culturally responsive, relevant, and sustaining content (including learning objectives, content, activities, and instructional supports) for teacher and student materials-including print, digital, and media projects
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of elementary (K-5) pedagogy and social studies content 
  • Produce accurate, error-free, high-quality products that meet curriculum standards and market requirements and display appropriate content, reading level, grammar, and style
  • Conduct quality assurance testing of digital assets within a variety of authoring tools, digital platforms, and applications
  • Communicate with fellow team members about project progress and develop solutions to address issues
  • Correlate educational materials to social studies standards and frameworks
  • Work closely with Academic Designer Managers and Director to assemble high-quality digital and print content based on specific product requirements for programs and understanding of the solution design
 
What you need to be considered:   
  • 3-5 years of elementary product development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in elementary education or other relevant focus 
  • 4 or more years of elementary classroom experience strongly preferred
  • Experience writing and editing instructional materials for use in elementary social studies classrooms strongly preferred
  • Experience working with digital curriculum development, digital authoring tools, and content management systems preferred

The pay range for this position is between $62,000 - $75,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
