Advertised Job Summary  | The University Advising Center’s Senior Academic Programs Coordinator provides leadership and operational oversight for key academic programs and initiatives that support undergraduate student success, curricular efficiency, and timely degree completion. This position collaborates extensively with faculty, advisors, academic units, and central administrative partners to implement, manage, and continuously improve curricular pathways, advising tools, and student support programs. The Academic Programs Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing innovative academic models, ensuring policy alignment, and supporting data-informed decision-making across the undergraduate curriculum. Knowledge of undergraduate curriculum structures, degree requirements, academic policies (including accelerated pathways), curriculum governance processes, approvals, and compliance requirements within a higher education environment is preferred.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience  | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Job Duty  | Undergraduate Curriculum & Academic Initiatives:Manage curricular requirements, policies, and approvals related to accelerated and alternative academic pathways in collaboration with academic units and governance bodies. Manage the process of developing and updating 8-Semester Major Maps annually for all undergraduate majors at USC Columbia, including the online Major Map repository. Reviews Undergraduate Bulletin to ensure college-level compliance with 8-Semester Maps requirement. Support the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of undergraduate curriculum initiatives, including three-year accelerated degree plans (ASP) and accelerated master’s programs (4+1). Serve as a key resource for faculty, advisors, and departments in the design and maintenance of curriculum aligned with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
