This position will support the university’s new School of Computing, which includes 3 strong departments and more than 6,500 students across all programs. This places UT among the most significant intellectual hubs for computer science, information, and statistics and data science research and education anywhere in the world. The School of Computing has a close relationship with Austin’s thriving tech culture and works at the forefront of fields spanning artificial intelligence, robotics and quantum computing; data science, statistics and scientific discovery; cybersecurity and trustworthy computing; and human-centered technology, information, and the societal impacts of computing. The School is seeking a Senior Academic Program Coordinator to support the Honors and Specialized Academic Programs.
Purpose
Provide academic advising, program coordination, and administrative support for specialized academic programs within the School of Computing, including Turing Scholars, Texas CSB, and X+CS. Coordinate related academic processes, undergraduate thesis requirements, and recruitment and admissions-related programming in collaboration with faculty, advisors, academic partners, and School leadership.

Responsibilities
Specialized Program Advising & Student Support
  • Advise students in Turing Scholars, Texas CSB, and X+CS on degree requirements, academic planning, course selection, registration, school and university policies, and specialized program requirements.
  • Support students in navigating academic opportunities and connect them with appropriate School, college, and University resources.
  • Coordinate student communications, onboarding, and other support initiatives for assigned student populations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and academic partners on student needs and specialized program requirements.
Specialized Academic Program Administration
  • Coordinate academic processes related to honors and specialized programs, including honors coursework, independent research, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Maintain student and program records and support related reporting and tracking.
  • Coordinate undergraduate research initiatives, communications, and student support activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic partners to support program administration and identify opportunities for program improvement.
Recruitment, Admissions Support & Program Operations
  • Support prospective and admitted student programming for honors and specialized programs, including information sessions, recruitment events, and yield activities.
  • Develop and maintain program information and resources for prospective and admitted students.
  • Support School-wide orientation, onboarding, and transition programs.
  • Coordinate specialized program events and support other School initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional experience in academic advising, student support, or academic program administration, or a master’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or evaluating student programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple units and with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and adapt effectively to changing needs.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than the required experience or qualifications.
  • Experience working with honors, specialized academic programs, or other high-achieving undergraduate student populations.
  • Experience with undergraduate research, student recruitment, orientation, or transition programming.
  • Experience working with faculty and academic partners to administer student-facing academic programs.
  • Experience working with undergraduate students at The University of Texas at Austin or in a complex higher education environment.
Salary Range
$65,000 + depending on qualifications
