Senior Administrative Manager Full Description

Position Summary: 
This position oversees the financial and organizational operations for the Department and serves as the liaison between the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and other departments responsible for determining University-wide policy, procedures, and services (e.g., Dean of the College, Registrar, Human Resources, Controller’s Office, Budget Office, ORA, Facilities, Graduate School, Admission etc.). In conjunction with the Director of Operations and Administration and the Department Chair, develops annual budget, approves financial expenditures, and ensures the department maintains budget & financial compliance. The position ensures effective and efficient delivery of quality and timely services, coordinates complex administrative matters, resolves escalated issues, supervises staff, drives a culture of administrative excellence, and champions diversity and inclusivity throughout the department. 

Qualifications: 
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in business administration

Required Experience:
5+ years progressive administrative experience and responsibilities (e.g., managing administrative services/processes, budgets, and staff) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience in educational settings

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Financial and analytical skills; Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; Self-initiated and motivated; Effective interpersonal communication and leadership skills. Proven verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively in a multi-dimensional environment. Computer proficiency in office related software. Technical experience developing database and spreadsheet to support departmental functions

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with higher education financial systems and policies (such as Concur, I-Buy, PeopleSync, etc.). Experience with labor accounting including allocating and approving payroll, as well as with contract management, procurement requests, and p-card management. Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment. Ability to carry out the management mission of an academic unit in a complex environment. Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and manage multiple priorities. Additional Information: 
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000 to USD $110,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
