Job Summary
Do you enjoy modeling radar systems or implementing DSP algorithm implementations on hardware? Are you passionate about programming in MATLAB? Do you enjoy sharing your passion with colleagues? If so, you may be a perfect fit for a pre-sales Application Engineering role.
As an Application Engineer (AE), you will act as a link between MathWorks and various customers across a range of industries. You will demonstrate how to use MATLAB, and other related tools to design and develop algorithms and deploy systems involving radar systems. You will work closely with customers to uncover obstacles in their engineering process and then collaborate with a MathWorks team in sales, marketing, and development to build convincing technical examples that demonstrate the value of using MATLAB in the customer’s development cycle.
Application Engineers have the opportunity to develop technical expertise in many MathWorks products, expand their industry knowledge, work on cross functional teams, and advance into leadership roles throughout the MathWorks. It is well established that AEs play a vital role in the success of the MathWorks.
Responsibilities
The Product Specialist AE will use his/her technical knowledge and presentation skills in activities that directly and indirectly boost product sales. These activities include:
Supporting & interacting directly with customers
The AE will use their product knowledge and industry experience to engage prospective customers and demonstrate how MATLAB can help them design and deploy wireless and wired systems. The AE will also gather feedback and identify industry trends during these engagements to contribute to future development and marketing initiatives.
Developing product “proof-of-concept” demonstrations
The radar specialist AE will build feature rich product demonstrations providing guidance to customers on how to use MathWorks software to develop and deploy systems for sensor array applications. These demonstrations are the proof that our software tools can solve complex, real-world problems.
The AE will use MATLAB, Simulink, Radar Toolbox, Phased Array System Toolbox, Antenna Toolbox, Sensor Fusion and Tracking Toolbox, and other related tools to:
- Design, analyze, and simulate sensor array systems across many diverse applications areas including Radar, Sonar, Communications, Audio, and more.
- Create application examples that demonstrate simulations of radar and other phased array systems in industries including automotive and EW.
- Provide technical proofs for capabilities such as radar target classification, radar resource scheduling, MIMO beamforming, target tracking, and much more.
Publication of Articles and Delivery of Seminar and Trade Show Presentations
AEs publish articles in trade journals and engineering publications that highlight the best features for product applications.
