Senior Assessment and Curriculum Specialist Full Description

As a senior assessment and curriculum specialist, you will work with faculty and leadership in assigned units to develop and improve curricular content that aligns with the university's best practices and higher education standards. You will manage and oversee the implementation of curricular updates for designated academic departments by entering and auditing enhancements in the university technology systems. Responsibilities include collaborations with faculty and academic leaders to create and refine assessment tools that effectively measure student learning and enhance educational programs. You will also oversee the integration of program assessments for the relevant academic departments following the university's assessment schedule. Additionally, you will stay current on accreditation requirements and standards for higher education curriculum and assessment best practices.  

In this role, you will help cultivate a culture that understands, values, and utilizes assessment data to make evidence-based decisions that enhance student learning and improve resources and support services. Responsibilities include maintenance and assessment of data and documentation files in accordance with university standards for information security and its collection and analyzation using appropriate statistics and software tools. You will compile assessment reports for various internal and external stakeholders, communicate results, and facilitate discussions around them to promote continuous improvement. Among other duties, you will prepare curriculum and assessment documentation for accreditation and other high-stakes assessment activities. You will also oversee the collection of capstone student work for assigned departments. 

The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. They can collect, analyze, and report both qualitative and quantitative data and can lead the curriculum and assessment process from start to finish. They are also flexible and capable of managing multiple goals and plans within a fast-paced, team-driven entrepreneurial organization.  

Minimum qualifications:  
  • At least three years of experience in education, student outcomes assessment, program evaluation, or educational research 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Experience designing innovative, impactful displays of information and presenting complex information to audiences with diverse backgrounds  

Preferred qualifications:  
  • Master's degree in a related field  
  • Experience working with art and design principles and data visualization and design software packages (Adobe) 
  • Experience collaborating with university stakeholders and developing course descriptions, goals, and student learning outcomes  
  • Experience creating and providing documentation in compliance with accreditation standards  

Travel required:  
  • 10–20%   

Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
