Senior Creative, Writer Full Description

As the Senior Creative, Writer, you will work directly with the Creative Lead, playing a key role in bringing the soul of AoPS to life through creative work that's as captivating as our curriculum. Working across all channels with a focus on organic, you'll communicate with the clarity and ingenuity that defines AoPS — clever, direct, and authentically problem-solving in approach. 

The Senior Creative, Writer will:
  • Translate strategic briefs into breakthrough creative concepts and compelling messaging frameworks for major campaigns that reveal the joy of real mathematical challenge
  • Craft copy that captures the AoPS voice across all channels (social, web, video scripts, campus materials, and event experiences)
  • Partner with external agencies to extend creative bandwidth while maintaining brand integrity and creative standards
  • Drive 90% of creative work independently while providing strategic creative support to other departments as needed
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints while pushing creative boundaries that make AoPS stand out as a challenger brand
  • Bring fresh perspectives that elevate AoPS creative beyond typical education marketing — matching the quality bar already found in our curriculum

The ideal candidate has:
  • Passion for the AoPS mission
  • 5–7 years of copywriting and campaign experience with a portfolio that proves you can write anything beautifully
  • Mastery of social content creation — you understand what makes people engage, share, and take action
  • Experience developing integrated creative campaigns from concept through execution
  • Background working with/for external creative agencies and managing creative partnerships
  • A portfolio that shows the ability to make complex or technical subjects engaging and accessible
  • A collaborative working style with the ability to influence creative direction without direct authority

Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country's top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into more subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
