What We’re Looking For
Abre is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Analyst team. In this role, you’ll transform complex educational data into actionable insights that improve outcomes for students and schools. You’ll work closely with district leaders and internal teams to design dashboards, optimize data models, and communicate findings in ways that empower decision-makers.
This position blends analytical expertise with an understanding of K–12 education systems, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, storytelling, and impact.
Specific Responsibilities
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualization that communicate actionable insights to educators, administrators, and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with district stakeholders and cross-functional Abre teams to define data needs, translate requirements, and implement scalable solutions within the Abre platform.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large, multi-source educational datasets.
- Develop and maintain relational data models and databases to support robust analysis and operational reporting.
- Conduct data quality audits, troubleshoot discrepancies, and recommend solutions to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Translate educational metrics into meaningful analyses that guide school and district improvement efforts.
- Provide training and consultation to non-technical audiences on data interpretation, visualization use, and metric definitions.
- Partner with internal data engineering and product teams to enhance data pipelines and reporting capabilities.
- Document key calculations, logic, and data structures through clear and accessible data dictionaries.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
- Proven experience developing dashboards and reports for non-technical audiences using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Mode, or similar).
- Deep familiarity with K–12 educational data, including accountability metrics, assessments, attendance, and demographics.
- Hands-on experience supporting or consulting with school districts.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning concepts, particularly in preparing foundational data for R&D initiatives
- Programming experience in Python or R for data analysis and manipulation
- Exposure to structured programming practices and applying them in data-driven environments
