Senior DevOps Engineer
Location Requirements: Hybrid to Wayne, PA; Hybrid to Naperville, IL; Remote
The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in ensuring Frontline’s infrastructure and release processes are secure, scalable, high-performing, and aligned with the goals of continuous integration and deployment. This role partners closely with Product Engineering, Security, and SRE teams to drive automation, streamline deployments, and strengthen our cloud-first strategy.
The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, collaborative, and comfortable balancing hands-on engineering with guiding best practices for release management, tooling, and infrastructure. Experience as a software developer is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead release and deployment processes for critical products, ensuring reliability, quality, and efficiency.
- Drive adoption of infrastructure standards, automation practices, and tooling across engineering teams.
- Provide technical leadership by guiding engineers, mentoring team members, and influencing architectural decisions.
- Evaluate and improve existing infrastructure, tools, and processes to increase automation, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution of releases and tooling across teams.
- Partner with engineering and security teams to design and implement cloud-native infrastructure solutions, including infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Act as a champion for secure, sustainable automation practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in an ongoing feedback loop across DevOps, SRE, and enterprise architecture to help shape the future state of technology at Frontline.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong experience owning and operating release management and deployment processes at scale.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and cloud development patterns.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Blue/Green deployments, Feature Flag frameworks, and release automation.
- Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud and deployment contexts.
- Experience supporting or leading on-premises to cloud migrations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and advocate for creative solutions.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with policy/standard creation and adoption a plus.
- Experience as a software developer is a strong plus, particularly in building and supporting applications integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
