Guild is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead and optimize Guild’s centralized cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks, and operational reliability. You will be responsible for both collaborating with engineering squads to improve DevOps adoption and owning the core infrastructure and operational platforms that power Guild’s AWS environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and security frameworks. This role requires deep expertise in AWS, infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation), automation, and security, as well as a strong ability to partner with development teams to enhance deployment workflows and reduce operational friction.
Key responsibilities
- Own and maintain Guild’s core AWS infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across environments.
- Enhance monitoring, observability, and alerting systems, ensuring engineering squads have deep insights into system health.
- Lead the adoption of infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation) to standardize cloud resource management across teams.
- Improve cloud security and compliance, managing IAM, secrets, and governance frameworks across AWS accounts.
- Architect and optimize cross-account AWS operations, ensuring seamless connectivity, networking, and automation across environments.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on DevOps and cloud infrastructure, providing guidance and best practices to engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers and advocate for DevOps culture, driving automation, reliability, and performance improvements across the organization.
- Develop and manage centralized DevOps tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment frameworks.
- AI Ops Experience
- Amazon AWS Certified.
- Familiarity with AWS lambda and container-based systems.
- Strong networking and security fundamentals.
- Experience working with Javascript, or Python development teams.
- Experience with datastores like Postgresql.
- A passion for improving developer productivity through automation and process improvement.
- Demonstrated curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new technologies.
- Willingness to embrace change and work within a fast-paced environment.

Required Proficiencies
- Experience applying DevOps practices in a professional setting, using agile methods
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments such as AWS
- Excellent cross-team communication skills
- Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Expertise with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform
- Basic scripting ability with Bash or other languages such as Python or Ruby
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Github Actions or CircleCI
- Expertise in defining and building common, reusable practices across multiple teams -- logging, CI/CD, alerting and monitoring, and security
Preferred Experience

We are committed to equal pay for equal work and believe in compensation transparency. All salary ranges are standardized nationwide and will not vary by region. This role offers a competitive total compensation package, including a base salary of $150,000 - $188,600 and stock options. Compensation offered will be based on a combination of factors such as experience, competencies, and internal equity.
