The Senior Director of Assessment Transformation will employ their measurement and assessment expertise to guide PSI’s transformation and assessment teams through the integration of PSI and ETS into a single assessment operating model. They are charged with establishing and employing best practices in assessment design and development and serving as a key stakeholder for the technology teams conducting the platform integration and transformation. They are also charged with resource planning and management as well as financial modelling for team scalability to meet the outcomes of the transformation objectives and outcomes. Further, this role is responsible for assisting with the product strategy to establish PSI as a disruptor in the marketplace.

This is a full-time permanent role, with flexible hours around core office availability Monday to Friday. The person in this role will report to the Chief Assessment Officer at PSI with a dotted line to the ETS Managing Director, Strategic Transformation. The role can be performed remotely, with regular domestic travel and occasionally international for meetings, events and workshops.

Role Responsibilities
  • Key team member on ETS-PSI transformation core team to review and re-define assessment models and define technical requirements for enhancement of combined PSI and ETS single technical and operating model to meet current and future state for development (build, analyze, score, and report) and delivery of ETS assessment products.
  • Define requirements for process transformation to plan and execute the transition of assessment development and operations into the combined PSI and ETS single technical and operating model.
  • Review and re-engineer, as applicable, assessment designs and processes to align with transformation outcomes and objectives.
  • Develop resource plans and approach to implement transition to combined PSI and ETS single technical and operating model and operational execution under PSI assessment services model.
  • Review and refine financial model for delivery of assessment services for ETS products.
  • Define SLAs and metrics to track and report on for productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost.

Experience and Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s in Educational Measurement, Quantitative Research Methods, Data Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychometrics, Business Operations, or related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 12 years in leading assessment related projects, including 5 years of advanced experience in team and process management.
  • Knowledge of the professional testing industry and experience with large-scale high stakes testing programs.
  • Experience with a range of assessment technologies preferred (e.g., technology-enhanced items, simulations, performance-based testing).
  • Experience in psychometric methods, measurement theory (CTT, IRT), and item bank management.
  • Knowledge and experience with assessment technology systems (e.g., item authoring and banking; automated assembly; LOFT, CAT).
  • Consulting and advisory skills, e.g., developing and recommending solutions for assessment programs or special problems.
  • Advanced writing skills to prepare technical reports, proposals and strategic communications.
  • Ability to manage a geographically diverse staff.
  • Experience with project management processes and applications preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.
