KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools (KPPS) is part of the national KIPP Public Schools network and currently leads eight schools serving 3,600 students in North and West Philadelphia. By 2030, KPPS will be serving approximately 4,000 students.

Job Description
Position Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director of Regional Operations (MDRO), the Senior Director of Regional Operations (SDRO) manages, supports, and enhances the existing regional systems and vendor relationships that are critical to ensuring safe, productive, clean learning environments for students and staff across our schools. The SDRO also provides direct support to our school-based Directors of Operations (DOOs), training and supporting them on the execution of new systems and practices that increase efficiency and quality execution on the ground. As the SRDO acclimates to the role, they will take on increasing responsibilities regarding DOO support, ultimately coaching, supporting, and serving as the regional point of contact for a subset of school-based DOOs.
Key Responsibilities
School Operations Support
- Train and support school-based Directors of Operations (DOOs).
- Directly support 3 school DOOs.
- Partner with the Director of Safety and Security to enhance and codify safety plans, procedures, and trainings for schools to align to state and federal guidelines and best practices.
- Additional relevant duties and projects as assigned by the MDRO.
Facilities
- Ensure that our facilities are safe, compliant, clean, and joyful by coordinating with school-based operations teams and managing our cleaning vendor.
- Support capital improvement projects through procurement and project management.
- Partner with vendors to ensure facilities are compliant with building inspections (L&I, water, lead-based paint, asbestos, etc.).
Food Service
- Oversee National School Lunch Program programs at participating schools, ensuring adherence to federal policies for school food program administration.
- Manage relationship with Food Service Management Corporation.
- Manage the state food service renewal application, review and audit.
- Create and monitor systems to ensure program is meeting state and federal guidelines.
- Enhance and codify regional procurement system, ensuring efficiency, appropriate documentation, and compliant processes.
Technology
- Manage tech across the region by coordinating with school-based operations teams, managing our tech vendor, and implementing and overseeing our inventory system (Asset Panda).
- Facilitate tech compliance: cybersecurity, system upgrades, equipment upgrades, etc.
Health
- Manage nurse contract with nursing agency.
- Ensure compliance with student health records.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years Operations Leadership
- Prior experience successfully leading school operations in a Director of Operations or similar school-based role
- Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making, work collaboratively, and have impact without formal authority.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Resourceful thinker with an orientation towards problem-solving.
- Exemplary customer service orientation and follow-through.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Enthusiasm and sense of humor.
