Senior Financial Aid Administrator Full Description

Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Senior Financial Aid Administrator is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of the student financial aid process. The Senior Financial Aid Administrator is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies. The Senior Financial Aid Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office. A candidate for this position must demonstrate self-motivation, a high degree of organizational skills, a high level of customer service orientation, and a collaborative spirit to be successful in the fast-paced environment associated with being a member of the Division of Student Affairs team.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs in compliance with all applicable regulations, including Title IV requirements
  • Ensure adherence to policies set forth by the US Department of Education and other regulatory bodies
  • Student packaging, awarding, verification, and disbursement processes
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement operational updates to maintain compliance
  • Provide comprehensive financial aid counseling to prospective and current students and families
  • Guide students through FAFSA completion, verification requirements, and funding options
  • Resolve complex financial aid issues with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness
  • Utilize and maintain student information systems to ensure accurate processing and reporting
  • Performs exit interviews and loan counseling to students upon graduation

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of financial aid experience in higher education
