Senior Global Trade Compliance Analyst


Job Summary

The Senior Global Trade Compliance Analyst applies experienced judgment to support and strengthen MathWorks’ Export Compliance Program. This role independently resolves routine to moderately complex compliance matters, serves as an escalation point for screening and classification issues, and supports audits, training, and metrics. The position remains hands‑on while absorbing complexity that would otherwise escalate to senior compliance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee export order screening and resolve non‑standard screening issues within established frameworks
  • Independently research and support ECCN classifications and jurisdiction determinations; maintain documentation and rationale
  • Partner with Engineering and Development teams on export compliance considerations tied to product releases
  • Act as a subject‑matter resource for export compliance questions from internal stakeholders
  • Execute and support export compliance training and maintain guidance materials
  • Ensure records and documentation are complete and audit‑ready
  • Create, analyze, and report on export compliance metrics and trends
  • Monitor regulatory changes and lead targeted process or workflow improvements

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications
  • Several years of experience in export or trade compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. export regulations and their application
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • CES or similar certification preferred
