Bright Horizons Human Resources Operations Team is seeking a talented Senior HR Project Manager to join our team and lead key HR initiatives that drive organizational success. The responsibilities of the Senior HR Project Manager include working closely with stakeholders, business owners and the HR Leadership Team to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and management of the project team to ensure that the project is delivered on time and on budget. The role will be responsible for projects within various teams including human resources, finance, information technology, payroll, and legal departments. Additionally, the Project Manager will work closely with any third-party implementer’s project manager and vendor(s).
This is a Remote position available in the United States.
In addition to significant Project Management competency, the role will require a broad spectrum of knowledge of HR programs, business processes, and will demonstrate operational excellence in the planning and tactical execution or projects.
To be successful as the Senior HR Project Manager, this role must possess excellent leadership, executive stakeholder management and communication skills, be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying levels of complexity simultaneously and demonstrate results under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Project Manager will be expected to manage multiple projects in any given period with varying teams, and with varying domains, lengths, and complexities. Responsible for adjusting project plan and internal & external team expectations based on shifting priorities when required
- Execution: Lead the implementation of cross-functional HR projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns. Demonstrated follow-through and accountability with the project team towards achieving key milestones and making critical business decisions that align with the company’s strategic goals. Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations that are effectively tailored to the intended audience
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies with senior members of the project team to ensure project success
- Leadership & Problem-Solving: Strong leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization, including senior executive level. Guide stakeholders, SMEs and project teams during times of ambiguity to assist them in reaching consensus or decision on the go-forward approach
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, project artifacts. status reports, and post-project evaluations with strong attention to detail
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in HR project management
- Change Management / Communications: Partner with SMEs to ensure the best practices of change management and communication are embedded into projects. Adjust communication strategy and approach of team to match the needs of specific business groups, individuals and partners and ensure that all materials created for communicating and facilitating discussion of intended approach are carefully tailored to the intended audience to ensure that business owners can give complete and accurate feedback
- Act as a coach to motivate and mentor project teams to achieve set objectives. Indirectly partner with, coach, mentor and provide guidance to junior level project managers
- Support knowledge sharing within and across projects
- Assist the program manager with the management of the HRIS project portfolio
- Serve as a communication bridge between business leaders and developers to facilitate understanding of initial requirements, questions and changes across these groups. Ensure that feedback from key business owners is fully acknowledged and incorporated into functional specifications, process flow diagrams and project plans to give business leaders the confidence that they are being heard and that their needs will be met
- Knowledge of different project management software such as: Smartsheet, MS Visio, and MS Teams preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, HR, IT, or related field is Required (5 additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
- PMP Certification is Preferred
- 5 years of experience as a project manager is Required
- 1-2 years' experience managing and leading HR & HR Technology projects is Required
- Hands-on experience managing projects for ERP and/or HR systems implementation are desirable
- Think beyond day-to-day activities to strategize for the future

Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 – $109,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.

Also, depending on hire date and subject to applicable eligibility requirements and accrual schedules, new employees in this role receive up to: 9 paid holidays annually; 40 hours of sick time per year based on full-time schedule, and 80 hours of vacation time per year based on full-time schedule (vacation time may be used for sick leave purposes under any applicable state or local sick or safe time law).
