The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. The AHA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two days working remotely.Responsible for assessing, designing, developing and executing educational content with a focus on utilizing eLearning technology for new and existing programs. These educational programs enable society members to acquire knowledge and skills related to the areas of health care facility operations, regulatory compliance, planning, design, construction, and certifications. This position collaborates with team members and subject matter experts on the development of a variety of educational programs.  This position works with Learning Management Systems to upload and manage content, generate usage reports, and provide user support.

Essential Functions
  • Design and develop content for educational programs, courses or other instructional materials or educational tools that meet member needs as well as advance their knowledge base. Education program delivery is through a variety of methods such as: webinars, on demand training, in-person programs and distance learning.
  • Maintain existing programs for relevancy and manage the updates of existing programs using new or more effective modalities such as adaptive learning, distance learning and gamification.
  • Utilize multiple formats, including print, audio, visual and multimedia, and selects the appropriate format for the target audience or content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that content is accurate and thorough.
  • Evaluate the results of educational programs and modifies future programs to meet educational goals. Measure learner engagement through the utilization of data analytics
  • Oversee curriculum management and user-support of Learning Management System.
  • Prepare reports on ASHE educational portfolio, budget, expense and revenue as needed. Monitor progress of all development within budget and timelines. Monitor sales of all educational programs and services.
  • Keep abreast of instructional design trends, technologies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications: Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Adult Education, eLearning Design or related field Required

Minimum Qualifications: Work Experience
  • 5+ years Experience with instructional design and development of adult education programs including but not limited to courses that are delivered virtually, in person, online and on demand Required
  • Advanced experience with learning technology including media design, authoringsoftware and gamification experience or similar Required
  • Prior experience working with Learning Management Systems, user support and program management Required

  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design models - Required

Salary Information:
Commensurate with related experience. The AHA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.

Salary Range - Midpoint:115000
Salary Range - Maximum:138000
