Why This Role Exists
Metro is looking for a versatile learning professional who can turn business needs into practical solutions that help employees build capability, navigate change, and perform with confidence.

In this role, you'll consult with leaders, design and facilitate learning, strengthen systems and process readiness, and create resources employees can use in the flow of work. Onboarding is an important focus, alongside employee development, change initiatives, and organization-wide capability building. You'll also use emerging technology, including AI, to improve how learning is created, delivered, and applied.

What You’ll Own
You’ll own learning solutions from discovery through delivery and improvement, with a particular focus on onboarding, systems readiness, and employee capability. You’ll balance hands-on facilitation and design with strategic consultation, helping leaders identify the right response to business and performance needs.

What You'll Do
  • Partner closely with the Manager, New Hire & Early Career Programming to strengthen and deliver components of Metro's onboarding experience.
  • Facilitate engaging systems training and learning experiences in classroom, virtual, and blended environments.
  • Design, evaluate, and redesign learning programs based on business outcomes, employee performance, and evolving organizational needs.
  • Consult with leaders and subject matter experts to identify business, capability, and performance needs; influence learning priorities; and recommend the right solution, whether that involves training, process improvement, tools, role clarity, or another organizational response.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create learning experiences that drive retention and application.
  • Create facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, digital resources, and reinforcement tools.
  • Support learning technology adoption and recommend approaches that improve the learner experience.
  • Measure learning effectiveness, gather feedback, analyze results, and make data-informed improvements.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and contribute to cross-functional projects, initiatives, and change efforts.

Success Looks Like
  • Employees can apply what they learn with confidence in their roles.
  • Programs improve based on business results, learner feedback, and performance data.
  • Leaders view you as a trusted partner who brings practical solutions, not just training.
  • Onboarding and key change initiatives launch smoothly and support employee readiness.

You’ll Love This Role If
  • You enjoy combining facilitation, design, consultation, and relationship building.
  • You are curious, adaptable, and comfortable working through change and ambiguity.
  • You want visible ownership and the opportunity to influence how learning happens across an organization.

AI Expectations

Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve learning design, content development, research, analysis, and workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment and protecting confidential information.

Required Qualifications
  • At least five years in Learning & Development, Training, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve learning design, content development, research, analysis, or workflow efficiency.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience facilitating instructor-led learning in classroom, virtual, or blended environments.
  • Experience designing and delivering learning programs that support business objectives and employee development.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Comfort working with leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify needs, and recommend practical solutions to performance and capability challenges.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a growth and results-driven mindset, exceptional energy, and a constant drive to achieve more, improve outcomes, and impact the business.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background supporting enterprise onboarding programs or new-hire development.
  • Skilled in facilitating systems, process, or technology training.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, digital learning platforms, or learning technology implementations.
  • Ability to evaluate learning effectiveness and use data to inform improvements.
