About the role...
We are seeking a Senior Equity Administrator to lead and continuously improve equity plan operations for our dynamic and growing global team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless administration of equity programs—including stock options, RSUs, and PSUs—while upholding accuracy, integrity, and employee education. You will work with the People, Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams. Your job will be to oversee transactions, assist with compliance, and communicate clearly about equity compensation.

You will...
  • Own Equity Administration. Handle our equity plans, including stock options, RSUs, and PSUs. Take care of grant approvals, distributions, terminations, and accurate record-keeping. Manage the Shareworks system we use for these tasks.
  • Conduct Company and Executive-Level Processes. Partner with Accounting and Legal teams to coordinate and execute processes for Form 4 filings, PROXY, executive compensation reviews, 10b5-1 plans, pre-clearance populations, etc.
  • Ensure Process Accuracy and Scalability. Design and implement efficient processes to minimize errors, maintain data integrity, and scale with Duolingo’s growth.
  • Drive Equity Reporting and Compliance. Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams to manage equity budgeting, perform regular reconciliations, and ensure compliance with all legal and financial reporting obligations.
  • Support Equity Program Strategy. Evaluate and recommend improvements to Duolingo’s equity administration and lead execution and change management for program enhancements.
  • Educate and Empower Employees. Develop and deliver educational content and resources that clarify equity compensation for employees across the organization.
  • Serve as Equity Subject Matter Expert. Act as the primary point of contact for all equity-related questions, providing guidance and support to employees and stakeholders.
  • Foster Cross-functional Collaboration. Collaborate effectively across departments to align equity initiatives with broader business strategies and ensure clear, consistent communication.
  • Maintain Confidentiality and Integrity. Handle sensitive compensation and equity data with discretion, professionalism, and the highest ethical standards.
 
You have...
  • Willingness to work in or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA, or New York, NY.
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of equity administration experience in a global public company.
  • Demonstrated success in creating educational content and resources related to equity compensation.
  • Proficiency with equity administration platforms (e.g., Shareworks, E*Trade), HR systems (e.g., Workday), and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficient project management skills to support precise execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to educate and create clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold integrity and confidentiality while working with sensitive data.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, dynamic environment, ideally in technology or engineering.
 
  Exceptional candidates will have...
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.
  • A track record of implementing equity systems and scalable processes.
  • Demonstrated success in creating educational content and resources related to equity compensation.

The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
