This role involves managing and enhancing the university's public image by developing strategic media relations and social media strategies, building relationships with media and influencers, and leading communication efforts across multiple platforms to support university goals.

Secure earned media placements by crafting press releases, media advisories, and story pitches.
Monitor media coverage, higher education trends, and reputational issues with reporting to leadership.
Collaborate with university departments and leadership to ensure messaging consistency and promote academic initiatives.
Use digital tools and software such as Cision, Sprout, Google Alerts, and Airtable for media monitoring and project management.
Require a bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, marketing or related field, with a minimum of 2 years experience; master's degree and 5 years experience preferred.
Salary range is $52,000 - $55,000 annually with comprehensive benefits including retirement contributions, tuition waiver, and health plans.
On-call availability is required for crisis communication and social media coverage outside standard hours.
