Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer provides senior level technical support of wired and wireless enterprise network with a focus on layer 3 routing, routing in the campus network environment with a focus on EVPN. Routing in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Manage AI driven wireless networks. The candidate will also embrace the organization’s Principles of Community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities with areas within the network telecommunications function with a focus on layer 3 routing and virtual routing and forwarding deployment and software-defined networking.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the university’s wired and wireless network infrastructure, utilizing advanced knowledge and expertise in Juniper Mist Access Points, Juniper Mist Edge, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Design, optimize, and manage the high-density wireless network using Juniper Mist infrastructure management tools and Ekahau Wi-Fi measurement tools.
  • Provide support in network projects and requirements.
  • Help develop and update network policies and procedures.
  • Report, record, and work with departments to resolve network-related issues and incidents.
  • Other functions as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science or related degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience with CISCO/Juniper Network equipment, cloud networking (Azure, AWS) or eight (8) years of an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Required Certification: CCNA or JNCIS-ENT
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science or related degree.
  • Six (6) years of experience with Virtual Network (VNET) deployments, network configurations, network automation or other certifications (CCNA Cloud, CCNA Data Center, CCNA Wireless)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Networking and large Wireless Networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Center and Software Defined Networking.
  • Team oriented.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
