Job Summary  | The Senior Operations Support Specialist position in Information Technology is responsible for providing Tier I support to end-users by utilizing the Helpdesk System; providing helpdesk training of operators regarding processes and the types of support provided by the Operations division and the IT department; devising ways to optimize inventory control procedures for all Troy IT Operations, ensuring all items are accounted for and adequately inventoried for various IT projects; recording daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory; and using software to monitor demand and document characteristics of IT inventory.

Minimum Qualifications
 
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR a minimum of two years of experience working within an Information Technology support area.
2. Skill in both time management and project management
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize those tasks effectively
4. Ability to make recommendations, overseeing, establishing and implementing various educational technologies, as well as acting on University directives
5. Ability to provide basic IT support to end users
Preferred Qualifications  | 1. Minimum of five years of experience working within an Information Technology support area
2. Skill in interpersonal relationships and team-building
3. Ability to establish goals, work within the framework of a team, and be held accountable for achieving challenging goals
4. Ability to function effectively with minimum supervision using independent judgement in selecting and adapting guidelines of confidential, difficult, and complex technical tasks
5. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints from both faculty and students
6. Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner, meeting strict guidelines
7. Ability to make high level independent judgments
