The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading efforts to deliver curriculum projects; this includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. This position contributes to process improvement initiatives to improve project delivery. The senior project manager will be assigned large and high-profile projects. S/he will have additional program management responsibilities including organizing programmatic reporting for the department and be the face of curriculum development to larger company-wide programs. Additionally, s/he will maintain a cross-department view for all projects to identify schedule, scope, and resource risks.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Project Management Director.
 
Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $75,540.00 and $85,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
 
Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.
 
Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 30% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives.
  • Develop detailed project plans and provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Oversee all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.

  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, marketing, and curriculum development.
  • Direct project scope and changes.
  • Support formal/informal schedules to manage internal and external engagement.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, change, risks, and issues.
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project and program team; analyze results and troubleshooting problem areas.
  • Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle.
  • Identify and develop trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders, sponsors, and university stakeholders.
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication.
  • Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Continue professional development in order to keep current on emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Share Your Expertise.
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study with at least 5 years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects and at least 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred degrees include Project Management, Business, or Communications.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Smartsheet, MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and/or Senior Leadership.
  • Impactful ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities.
  • Well-regarded success in providing on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • PMP or Agile certification preferred.
