Elsevier is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Senior Publisher to manage a portfolio of journals primarily focused on Dentistry, within the Health and Medical Sciences group. You will maintain, develop, and take complete publishing responsibility for a defined list of journals in the field of dentistry.
Responsibilities
Develop the strategy for the portfolio in collaboration with journals' external editorial teams and society partners.
Work with Editors, Authors, Editorial boards and Reviewers to ensure sufficient copy flow of relevant, high-quality manuscripts.
Negotiate and manage contractual relationships with journal editors and learned societies.
Meet portfolio-related objectives for content growth, market share, editorial speeds and satisfaction.
Manage the editorial fees budget and provide input to pricing processes.
Establish and maintain networks with key external and internal stakeholders.
Identify and map market needs and business opportunities; develop or acquire new products and services.
Requirements
University degree with a minimum of five years journal publishing experience or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong networking, negotiation, and collaboration skills; commercial awareness and business acumen.
Understanding of the scientific research ecosystem, particularly in health and medical contexts.
Able and willing to travel internationally.
