Team Overview

Our Hosting team manages and supports the infrastructure of all our platforms, from hardware to software, to operating systems to PowerSchool products. This collaborative team helps meet the needs of an evolving technology and business model with a specialized focus on protecting customer data and keeping information secure. We are looking for a senior engineer to join our team building deployment tooling for one of our fastest growing products. Responsibilities: 

Description

A Cloud Operations engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and best practices.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Development, execution, and maintenance of deployment systems using various technologys
  • Leveraging cloud services such as EKS/AKS, RDS, Snowflake
  • Working with engineering teams on the design and development of deployment automation
  • Maintaining cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud providers
  • Monitoring and maintaining production systems
  • Participating in major incidents and on-call rotations

Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional experience may be substitute for an advanced Degree.
  • Certification to AWS or Azure developer level (or demonsterable experience)
  • CI/CD Experience (working with pipelines in platforms like GitLab and GitHub

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS/Azure Solutions Architect certification
  • Solid understanding of tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, and Azure Resource Manager templates
  • SDLC and Cloud Operations experience

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $98,500 - $156,800 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
